Becoming a Mason

In order to become a Freemason, it is necessary to meet these requirements:
  • Be a man.
  • Need a Mason to propose and another to second you.
  • Have a sound reputation, and be well-recommended by your proposer and seconder.
  • In most freemasonry jurisdictions, you must believe in a Supreme Being, regardless of your religion.
  • Be over the age of 21 years with the exception in Scotland, the son of a Master Mason can join at the age of 18 year.
